A merchant's house on the north brink of the River Nene, built in 1722 with a plaster and wood rococo interior and a notable and rare Victorian garden with unusual trees, summerhouses, pool gardens and Victorian glasshouses including 300-year-old orange trees. Refurbished (17thC reed barn) which hosts weddings. Tearoom, open as house, serves an historic menu which changes monthly. The garden is one of the finest walled town gardens in the country.
